What do you need to know about Covid-19 testing in Dubai or Abh Dubai?

Dubai seems to be pretty easy with the covid-19 restrictions. All you need to do is to take a PCR test on arrival at Dubai international airport. The free PCR test can provide you with the results within 24 hours. You need to allow at least 24 hours of transit in Dubai before catching your flight to Socotra.

There are other faster options like the rapid covid-19 test, which will give you the results within 2 hours and cost around AED350, or if you can wait for a bit, there is another option that provides you with the results within 5 hours and cost AED250 (please note that the express testing result services are not available at the airport)

Abu Dhabi is a bit more strict if you are fully vaccinated. You need to register your vaccination certificate here (better to do it before arrival), then you will have to download the Alhosn app. This app is like your green pass. It will store your vaccination certificate. Many shops and restaurants in Abu Dhabi will ask you to show the app to let you in. However, if you plan not to visit Abu Dhabi and hang around the airport for your flight time to Socotra or back home, don’t stress about the app.
